Once you start having coffee on a daily basis, it becomes difficult to carry on daily without it. It keeps you fresh and helps you wake up. This mainly happens because of the caffeine content. On the other hand, there are people who prefer decaffeinated coffee to caffeinated ones. You must know the difference between the two and decide whether they are good for you or not.
Caffeine
The main thing done by caffeine is providing you alertness and energy. In some circumstances, it lessens pain. For example, caffeine may help tension caused by migraines. Caffeine can boost alertness and mental power as well. However, there are some drawbacks of caffeine as well. It is very addictive and if it is missed even for a day, people tend to be irritable and the urge of needing caffeine remains. Headaches, loss in focus and mood swings also tend to happen if one does not get caffeine.
Decaf
It’s pretty simple. Some people love the flavor of coffee or just want a hot drink. However they may not want the added boost that caffeine provides. Some folks stay away from caffeine under doctor’s orders, such as is common during pregnancy. Decaf coffee gives everyone a choice!
What should you choose?
It’s all up to you! Talk with your doctor or nutritionist, and evaluate your own body’s response to caffeine.
