Medical and nutritional studies can be so confusing.  Some say that coffee is not a good beverage choice, while others praise it for its beneficial properties.  It’s so difficult to discern which ones are accurate and offer helpful information versus the ones that have no bearing at all.  Let’s take a quick look at what the most recent research tells us.

To be succinct, the newest studies show that coffee is definitely worth drinking for our health. Two powerful antioxidants that are found in coffee are polyphenols and hydrocinnamic acid.  These chemicals are derived from plants and are among those that help to prevent against different ailments.  Also included is the fact they have been proven to protect our bodies against liver and colon cancer. It is also the best and most popular source of these antioxidants in our American daily diet.

It is also well known that fully caffeinated and decaffeinated coffees have basically the same levels of these antioxidants, so one type doesn’t offer better protection than the other.  It just takes one to two cups of coffee daily, for us to enjoy their benefits.  Drinking more servings doesn’t increase the advantageous factors in our health scenario.  Nevertheless, further research continues to be promising in this field, making coffee lovers even happier.
