Did you know that the human body consists of 60% to 70% water? It’s true. The average person is 65% water. Water is the substance of life.

It’s everywhere.

Seventy-one percent of the Earth’s surface is water. Two of life’s most important processes – photosynthesis and respiration – could not happen without water. Water, or water vapor, is also present in other planets in our solar system, including Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and several moons (including the Earth’s). Water is very important to the living.

Water is also necessary for irrigation. It helps food to grow so that it can be processed for human consumption. Plants and animals, which are a part of the human food chain, require water for their health and preservation. All of life thrives on water.

Water is not only necessary for replenishment in the human body, it also contains health benefits. Health experts recommend one to two liters of water per day in order to remain healthy. Of course, how much water a person should consume on a daily basis depends on their body size and weight and how much physical exercise they perform that causes them to sweat and lose fluids. Still, one could not survive without some water intake.

Taking Care Of Your Employees’ Water Needs

Since water is so vital to healthy living, and because most people spend much of their daily waking time at work, it makes sense for companies to provide water for their employees’ replenishment needs. After all, a healthy work force is a happy work force – and a more productive work force.

Water is available of course in more than one option. Many businesses offer bottled water for their employees. These can come in the form of 20-ounce bottles or as 5-gallon water coolers.

Another option is water filtration. You simply hook up a countertop water filter or a free standing floor unit and receive an unlimited supply of water for your work force.

Water filters can also be used to keep the water supply for your coffee and tea drinks clean, which means that you are providing a great service for your employees on two fronts. They get clean water and good coffee (or tea). You’ll see a happier and more productive office environment because you cared enough to address the water needs of your employees.

Your body may consist of only 65% water, but it’s 100% important for your life and health – and that of your employees.
